Gate installation Cambridge ON

Picture
If you’re a resident or business owner in Cambridge, take a look around this beautiful city.  Cambridge, with a population of around 140,000 boasts remarkable history, art, culture and architecture.  You might notice some beautiful landscapes with man made structures like fences and gates.  We at Cambridge Fence are honoured to contribute to the beautiful environment that makes Cambridge, Ontario special.

Our gate and fence contractors in Cambridge Ontario are bar none, as we have been installing them for a double digit number of years.  Our gate construction and installation is done to the highest standards set not only by us, but by our existing and future clientele.

Gates is a broad term, as they are found in a myriad of materials and styles, which ultimately determines its main function.  We’ll touch on a few popular types here.

Some of our most requested gate installation services include:

  • Privacy gates: these are often attached to existing or newly installed fencing.  The most popular material is wood (in either pressure-treated pine or cedar).  Alternative materials for privacy fencing and gates include vinyl and composite, each showcasing their own unique features such as lower maintenance and durability.

  • Security gates: popular residential privacy gates using the material mentioned above do provide some security, as it does block intruders from immediate entry.  However, in a commercial or high security setting, security is of utmost importance, so popular materials include commercial aluminum, steel or wrought iron gates and fencing.

  • Driveway gates: this comes in a variety of materials, but metal is by far the most popular option for this style of gate.  Another consideration would be whether to make it manual or automatic.  The latter option is much more convenient in that you won’t have to exit your car to open the gate, and therefore is a smart option to include.

  • Garden gates: these gates can be as simple or as elaborate as your heart (and budget) desire.  You’ll have to look at the garden’s surroundings and see what gate material would fit in in terms of look and function.  Wood and metal are popular options here.

Along with gate types, there are gate styles you might want to think about.  Popular styles include single swing style, double swing style (if the area is wide enough) and sliding gates.  This of course depends on the amount of space as well as the budget.

How much does a gate installation cost?

As a broad statement, a gate can cost between $500 to $10,000 or more.  After you factor in the type, style and size, all of which determine the final price, you’ll have to look at the main function as a determining factor for adding extras or opting for a pricier, sturdier material.  For example, choosing an automatic driveway gate, using a strong steel or iron metal security fence, or opting for an elaborate custom garden gate will all drive up the price.  Instead of focusing solely on the price, look at the value of the gate.  Will it provide security for many years, even decades to come?  Will it increase your property’s ROI?  Will it be installed by experienced gate contractors in Cambridge so that it will last for many years without issues?

If the answer is yes, then a quality gate install can be a worthwhile investment.  Consider Cambridge Fence, one of the top fencing companies in Cambridge ON, to provide superior materials and workmanship for your property.
